Temporarily suspend payments without canceling the subscription

Overview

The Pause Subscription offer lets customers take a short break instead of canceling their plan entirely.

It’s designed for moments when users still value your product but can’t use it right now - for example, during travel, budget changes, or workload peaks.

By pausing instead of canceling, customers keep their data, setup, and preferences intact while avoiding future charges until the pause period ends.

Configuration

You can add a Pause Subscription offer as part of your Cancellation Flow - either after a Smart Open Text question (where Juttu’s AI automatically categorizes the cancel reason) or after a Single Choice question (where the customer selects their reason manually).

To configure the offer:

  1. Go to Cancel Flows → Flow → Pause Offer
  2. Choose the pause duration (e.g., 1, 2, or 3 months)
  3. Save the flow — Juttu will handle the rest automatically

How It Works

When a customer accepts a pause offer, Juttu automatically connects with your payment provider (e.g., Stripe) and pauses payment collection for the defined period.

Example:

  • Customer’s billing date: Every 8th of the month
  • March 12th: Customer enters the Cancel Flow
  • March 12th: Accepts a 1-month pause offer
  • Juttu updates the subscription in Stripe and pauses billing until April 11th
  • April 11th: Pause period ends
  • May 8th: Normal billing resumes
